Nightingale, F.: Autograph Letter Signed, written by Nightingale staying at Claydon House, to Mrs. George Harford Battersby, wife of the then vicar of Middle Claydon. 25 September, 1891. Single sheet, octavo (177x144 mm). Double-sided letter written in pencil on Claydon House, Winslow, Bucks headed letter paper. With an envelope, the words "Private. On Her Majesty's Service" printed in black to recto, inscribed by Harford Battersby's son in ink with the details of the letter.

Nightingale, F.: Autograph Letter Signed “FN”. L(ea) H(urst), 29.IX.1878. 1 Seite quer-8°. Die erste Hälfte mit Tinte, die zweite mit Blei geschrieben. Mit schmalem Trauerrand. Oberrand nicht ganz gleichmäßig.
Florence Nightingale (1820-1910), englische Krankenschwester, Begründerin der modernen Krankenpflege und einflussreiche Reformerin der Gesundheitsfürsorge. An ihren Arzt William Webb, den sie um Behandlung einer mittellosen Kranken bittet. In reference to Miss Rabe’s medicines being dispensed at Dublin, Miss R. is penniless & one of my main objects is to enable her to carry onto your orders without expence: She has been suffering very much from pains in the chest these last few days. I have never seen her so low spirited about herself”.
